“Learning Organization” - Reflections on Literature Perspective
Mohamad
Chami
We live in an environment of disruptive change in which companies seek to create more value through special combinations of creativity, price, performance, and flexibility (Christensen & Overdorf, 2000), Organizational structures and thought processes have been well-established to be substituted by modern ones. This involves the introduction of new ways of thought and acting by corporate leaders amongst people, organizations, and societies. As a crucial strategic capability and a principal basis for competitive advantage an organization's willingness to understand, develop, introduce and distribute new ideas have been encouraged in a transformative environment, and this is simply reflected in the Learning Organization concept where doors are open for People Development, greater motivation, more flexibility, creativity and innovation, better team and group work, knowledge sharing and Interdependency. Thus, this paper focuses on the literature perspective of the learning organization concept in order to clarify the exact meaning of it and allow further future research to scrutinize the implementation of this concept in the business world.

This paper analyses equal opportunity factors contributing to youth unemployment and provides working recommendations for further dialogue and engagement of youth in the EA countries. Data and policy analysis is based on the theory of 4-Es as propounded by the International Labour Organization and Youth Employment Network literature. The field research survey focus group discussion, combined observation, and consultations with key informants were major research methods used in collecting secondary and primary data and information. Data analysis used non-parametric methods, mainly frequency and cross-tabulations. The paper found that lack of equal opportunities contributes to youth unemployment. The main equal opportunity attributes include limited open-access application; unfair judgment; high and increasing corruption and prevalence of tribalism in the EA societies. Other factors are complex social, cultural norms and the existence of negative or biased religious beliefs. The paper recommends enhanced equal employment in the labor market. The specific policy strategies include the need to enhance open access application; institute a fair judicial system; ensure corruption-free; minimize negative effects of tribalism; enhance gender mainstreaming; consider positive social and cultural attributes and uphold religious systems in the labor market and employment systems.

The main purpose of this research is to prove the validity of the Altman Z”-score model to expect the financial distress in the Lebanese Alpha banks over the period 2009 - 2018. The study begins with a literature review of secondary data from articles, books, financial reports, previous researches, and periodicals on the Lebanese Alpha Banks. The researchers calculated the Altman Z”-score for non-manufacturing companies and emerging markets. Moreover, to reach the specific goal of this study, the researchers used EViews Software and applied (1) a descriptive analysis of the variables (X1, X2, X3, X4, and Z”) and (2) the Pearson Correlation Matrix to study the impact of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The authors validated the Altman Z”-score Model using the four independent variables. In addition to that, the correlation of the variables indicated that there is a strong positive correlation between X1 and Z” and a weak negative correlation between X2 and Z” and a weak positive correlation between X3 and X4 and Z”. Above all, based on the calculated values for the Z” for non-manufacturing companies and emerging markets, the majority of the ten Alpha Banks had values below the cutoff of 1.1 which showed evidence that they were distressed over the period 2009 - 2018. It is worth it noting, based on the results, that the Z”-score model is recommended as an important, instrumental indicator for any external or internal use of banks’ financial statements like auditors, financial managers, investors, and lenders, to take the correct decisions in case of financial distress or failure of these institutions.

Lebanese Potential Output Calculation and Business Cycles Identification
Jennifer
Challita
The article measures the amplitude of the business cycles, and the output gap in Lebanon by determining the trend path of the GDP around which the actual output fluctuates. Business cycles facilitate the understanding of the economic dynamic’ fundamentals, they provide also a kind of support for the implementation of any monetary or economic policy. In this context, monetary policies are evaluated in order to assess their effectiveness on business cycles, the extent to which a shift in a monetary policy affects the dynamics of business cycles. The Lebanese output gap is estimated through a structural method using the economic variables production function, which relies on economic theory and tries to make explicit the nature of constraints that limit output. Results show that the unemployment rates in Lebanon were always much higher than the unemployment rates in Lebanon during the period of study were always much higher than the NAIRU, which means an important part of the human capital was unexploited. Moreover, the monetary policy in Lebanon impacted the business cycles and generated as a result expansion periods characterized by positive output growth. Worth mentioning that expansion periods were shortly lived, while stagnation and recession periods long-lasted for many quarters. However, a lack of intervention made all policies framework unable to support a certain macroeconomic stability, hence there was no major influence on the Lebanese economy, and their impact was barely felt which cannot be translated to substantial and extensive outcomes on different Lebanese economic aggregate variables.

Mohamad
Chami
This paper sheds the light on the Best Motivational Practices adopted by HR in the Hotel industry in Lebanon and focuses mainly on the Employee of the month approach as being one of the recent motivational practices in various fields and in the hotel industry as well. This paper scrutinizes the motivational best practices and how they affect the performance of the employee and then moves to the Employee of the month concept while elaborating on its features. Interviews were done from a sample hotel to assess the motivational best practices being applied and introduce the Employee of the month concept as a significant factor to boost motivation. Motivation takes a lot of shapes and has been a crucial topic addressed in many types of research in the business field and it is still being considered a major issue that cannot be ignored despite the increase in the obstacles and difficulties many business industries are facing, but still, employees need to be motivated regardless of the situation and here lies the core focus of this paper.

The Concept of Knowledge Sharing in Organizations (Studying the Personal and Organizational Factors and Their Effect on Knowledge Management)
Yassmin
Diab
The importance of Knowledge Management in organizations is becoming more noticeable and imperative to the success of organizations. Knowledge management in organizations is a necessity that needs to be adopted by the “brains” of the organization, as it is the main key for individuals to improve their learning and become more productive. Nowadays, organizations need to sustain their competitive advantage, and in order to do so, organizations need to promote a culture of organizational learning that encourages knowledge-sharing behaviors among colleagues. This culture requires support from top management as this would encourage knowledge-sharing behavior amongst employees. Knowledge management is a process that is adopted by organizations to capitalize on the knowledge capital of the organization. There are two types of knowledge, tacit and explicit. The process of sharing this knowledge, whether tacit or explicit knowledge, entails different methods of communication and various activities. This paper will investigate the knowledge sharing process from different researchers’ perspectives and look into the different factors which are considered as facilitators and barriers to the concept of the knowledge sharing process in order to understand and further research their effect on knowledge sharing.
